Dave Prucha moved to Japan in 1992 for a short work assignment but ended up building a life there. Initially unacquainted with Japan, he fell in love with its culture and society, eventually marrying, having three children, and starting a craft beer microbrewery. Prucha appreciates Japan’s cooperative culture, finding it a better fit for him than the individualistic nature of the US. Now 61, he considers Japan his home, feeling integrated into society, despite missing some aspects of American life.
